MX-RAid – Remote Aid for WESCAM’s MX-Series of EO/IR Turrets
A new advanced service kit for remote diagnostic evaluation of fielded MX-Series EO/IR systems. This exclusive capability provides WESCAM’s customers immediate access to an in-house factory technician who can diagnose actual system faults from afar.
The MX-RAid provides a remote aid diagnostic capability and is a powerful tool for remote troubleshooting, diagnostics and prognostic/predictive maintenance planning.
How MX-RAid Works
The use of this ground support equipment by support personnel (end user’s O-Level maintainers or WESCAM Field Service Representatives) provides for a remote access to a turret via satellite. This access is made available via a connection between the turret and a satellite modem. Once set up at the end user’s location, WESCAM’s technician accesses the turret through a dedicated IP address.

The MX-RAid service cannot be initiated during flight, and is considered Ground Support Equipment only.
The only connection made to the MX turret is through the internal maintenance software, which limits information to internal diagnostic and maintenance information. MX-RAid does not allow any sensor images to be transmitted.
If the MX turret has GPS capability, GPS can be disabled by simply unplugging the GPS cable, thus removing GPS coordinates from the overlay menus, ensuring customer locations remain anonymous.
