Earlier this year we announced that the highly anticipated Wescam XR™ was available for rental to the film, video
and sports industries.
The first XR unit was completed this past March and has since been involved in numerous sporting events and
several major motion pictures. More specifically, the first of five projected XR units had been involved in the shooting
of Terminator 3 (T3) during the months of July and August 2002.
On set for 9 weeks in downtown LA, the XR made quite an impact on Ben Seresin, the 2nd Unit D.P on the T3 feature.
| When asked what he was looking for in a remote head for a car chase sequence he replied: "In this particular sequence we are shooting a seven week long car chase that will translate into 6-8 minutes of film. The remote head we use will need to be mobile and have the ability to change mounting positions quickly". |
When asked what he thought of the XR? " I can't sing its praises enough. We were able to get shots with the XR that would have been otherwise impossible. The XR has become the main stay of our shooting platforms. The XR is perfectly reliable - I think it is great!”
