L3 WESCAM Recognized at the United Way Evening of Celebration

On April 3, 2019 individuals and organizations from across the community were in attendance at the United Way Evening of Celebration to celebrate their collective efforts which have helped the United Way better support those in need. During the celebratory event, attendees learned about current issues within local communities and cheered on fellow partners and award recipients.For its dedicated efforts throughout the year, L3 WESCAM’s United Way Committee received the 2018 United Way Spirit Award for Outstanding Employee Campaign of the Year and 2018 United Way Spirit Award for Outstanding Employee Campaign Chair of the Year. “From planning exciting events to setting up tables throughout the year, each member of our United Way Committee came prepared to roll up their sleeves to help raise much needed funds for local communities,” said Andy Czebe, Chair, L3 WESCAM’s United Way Committee. “Both of these awards highlight the tremendous work and dedication of our volunteers and the continued support from our amazing employees and management.”

Outstanding Employee Campaign Chair of the YearTo build on the excitement, the United Way of Halton and Hamilton also announced that it raised a whopping $10,875,000, which is the largest total it has raised to date. This milestone achievement will help support local programs that address some of the most unignorable issues such as poverty, domestic violence, education inequality, senior isolation and mental illness.

The United Way is dedicated to raising funds and ensuring that an essential network of programs and services work together to achieve lasting, positive change within our communities.

Each year, L3 WESCAM joins over 680 corporate partners in Halton and Hamilton to support the United Way. Throughout the year, dedicated WESCAM employees volunteer and participate in auctions, bake sales, toy drives and other engaging events to raise donations which help the United Way support individuals and families within local communities.
